Duration 2 hours
When the Duke of Wellington beat Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo a grateful nation gave him enough money to buy Apsley House, at Hyde Park Corner, and secretly save his brother from bankruptcy.
We start the tour here and take a walk across the centuries along Piccadilly, through political intrigues and property scandals passing the Queens former home and Rothschild mansions and down the Queen’s Walk in Green Park, taking in Princess Diana’s family home, the Downton Abbey London residence and the building Queen Victoria described as a ‘palace’ compared to her ‘house’.
Finally we walk via St James’s Palace and up through Club Land to the New Zealand High Commission at the bottom of Haymarket.
On this tour the great West End will come alive for you.
